Meet Carleen… Wine Nerd & Foodie
My relationship with wine started out in a box. Franzia White Zinfandel to be specific. It was when I moved to Central California in early 2000 that my eyes and taste buds were introduced to great wine. When I experienced the dance that ensued between wine and food when paired well, the love affair began.
I drove over to Paso Robles and the Napa Valley every chance I got, and nurtured that love affair with wine, and have spent thousands of hours in my kitchen creating food that will complement and be enhanced by the wines that I discovered. I moved back home to Texas in late 2010, but get over to the wine country every chance I get.
In 2024, after talking about it for years, I started my formal wine education with both WSET and Wine Folly classes. At the urging of my sweet husband, I decided to share my passion for wine with people on a broader scale, thus Carleen’s Cellar was born.
My goal is to arm you with real-world information on wine that helps you find your favorites, introduce you to new yummy wines, learn how to choose wines in a restaurant or store when you don’t see anything you know, and enhance your whole experience with wine.
